Dermatitis herpetiformis, recurrent mouth ulcers (aphthous stomatitis), insulin-dependent diabetes, autoimmune thyroid disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and systemic lupus are all diseases closely associated with celiac disease. Other diseases that are less-associated with celiac disease are Addison’s disease, chronic active hepatitis, down syndrome, Turner syndrome, Williams syndrome, Sjögren’s syndrome, fibromyalgia, alopecia areata, and scleroderma.
